Karen Shalev is an active member of the Gamma Chi chapter of DAPi at Worcester State University, MA. She organized and chaired a social media committee for that chapter and has been elected as its president. She serves as a peer mentor for students with disabilities and works with the administration to improve accessibility.
Karen is pursuing a major in Visual and Performing Arts and holds a GPA of 4.0. In addition to her active involvement with Gamma Chi, she serves in the Student Senate Parliamentarian, Co-President of WSU’s Chabad club, and Presidential Student Ambassador; she has received the Binienda Public Service Award for her commitment to public administrations and service. Her dedication to Delta Alpha Pi is apparent in her essay: ”When I first became a member of Delta Alpha Pi, I knew I had found my home. Although we all had different disabilities and came from different backgrounds, we shared the common experience of living with disabilities in an ableist society.”
